Assessment of the patient's periodontal status
using an electronic probe

At the medical center "Estetik Dental", various diagnostic methods are available, including modern PA-ON computer diagnostics, which makes it possible to assess periodontal status at the earliest stages of pathology development.

Periodontal status assessment with PA-ON computer diagnostics is increasingly becoming part of a comprehensive preventive examination aimed at early detection and treatment of oral soft-tissue problems.

When
PA-ON computer diagnostics is needed:

• Needed to determine the depth of periodontal pockets

• When gum soreness is present

• In cases of gum swelling

• For preventive purposes

• For periodontal diseases

• When gums bleed

•  Performed to determine the degree of destruction of the dentogingival junction

PA-ON computer diagnostics is one of the modern methods for diagnosing periodontal disorders. This method makes it possible to determine the severity of disorders even in the absence of symptoms and to provide an objective assessment of the condition of the gums and oral soft tissues adjacent to the teeth.

PA-ON computer diagnostics is performed using a special electronic probe that is inserted into the periodontal pocket, and a special sensor reads information about the condition of the gums. The method helps simplify and standardize periodontal status assessment. Measurement results are automatically entered into a periodontal chart, allowing the doctor to track the clinical picture over time.

Diagnostic stages

  1. First, the doctor performs an examination with an oral inspection. This is necessary to determine the severity of changes and the need for correction.
  2. As a rule, this type of examination does not require special preparation. In addition, electromyography is a completely painless procedure. The doctor prepares the probe in advance; it has fairly simple settings for performing the diagnostics.
  3. The patient's periodontal status is determined in just a few minutes. Using a specially calibrated electronic probe inserted into the periodontal pocket, the key information is read, transmitted to a computer, and processed using software.
  4. The stage during which the obtained data are processed, followed by analysis by specialists. The data are saved for further monitoring of treatment.
